    Awesome competition!!

We’ve jsut signed up for the HomeAway newsletter – why do we want to go back to Edinburgh?

We didn’t manage to sample all the whiskeys in the whiskey destillery last time we were there, so we HAVE TO go back and finish this task. We also heard that there is a vegetarian version of Haggis (how??) which we’d love to try, and see what else we find time for (other than drinking, eating and enjoying the luxurious apartment 😉 …)

  19. Kris January 28, 2011 at 10:20 pm

I would hunt for the best scotch whiskey in town!

  20. Anthony January 29, 2011 at 1:38 am

Swanky! I’d run the Edinburgh 10k, then celebrate on the night with ironic drunken debauchery. Then walk it off in the morning to a wee visit of Great Friar’s Bobby. If Edinburgh doesn’t captivate you-check your heartbeat.

  21. Nikki January 29, 2011 at 2:27 am

  26. Cathy Sweeney January 29, 2011 at 1:26 pm

This is a great contest. I’ve never been to Edinburgh, so my time would be very well spent seeing the sights, eating, drinking – whatever I can fit in! (I’d also love to meet @jools_octavius if he was in town!)

  35. Michelle January 31, 2011 at 12:07 am

I would love to return to Scotland so I can spend more than a day in Edinburgh – walking the cobblestone streets, touring the castle, strolling through museums, taking a ridiculous number of photographs, and devouring delicious food and bevarages (whiskey, anyone?). Plus, I must visit the surrounding countryside. Cheers!

  40. Michael Hodson February 2, 2011 at 12:32 am

Hmmmm, Scotland. The plan is golf. No, pubs. No, sightseeing. Arrrgggg. OK. Golf in the a.m. Then sightseeing. The pubs. Or maybe pubs before sightseeing. Screw it, I’m just confused now.

  41. Emily Hyndman February 2, 2011 at 12:40 am

Hmm, I’d just have to use it for my honeymoon, should it be available. If not, I’d have to use it for another fantastic after my wedding, because neither I nor my fiance have been to Scotland yet 🙂

  42. Tiffany Harrison February 2, 2011 at 12:42 am

Going back to Edinburgh would be like going to my second home. The people, the culture, the haggis–the hard part will be leaving!!

  43. jen February 3, 2011 at 1:06 pm

If I win I would spend my time making up for lost time, which I can’t get back, but if I could, would spend traveling.

  45. Ryan February 4, 2011 at 9:33 am

  46. Joseph February 5, 2011 at 7:00 am

First of all I would hunt down (well, not hunt down but maybe find) J.K.Rowling and convince her to talk to me a little bit, or just take a picture (I’m harmless, I will not hurt anyone, I promise)…then I would immerse (and most likely get lost) in the beauty that is Edinburgh. Hopefully if there’s time (if there’s not than I will make some) visit some castles (the haunted ones would be on top of the list), pubs (just for Dad) and in the end hop over to the Isle of Skye!

  47. Natalie February 5, 2011 at 6:05 pm

    Perfect contest!

I’m hopefully visiting the UK this year and with a week stay Edinburgh I’d get a chance to extend my travel plans out from London where I’ll most likely be. I’d love to do some scotch tastings (I have a nice collection), tour some historic sites and hopefully get the timing right to see some festivals.

I haven’t been to the UK and can’t wait.

    Have a great trip! 🙂

  48. Daryle February 6, 2011 at 8:03 pm

This would be a an amazing opportunity for us to take our 2 boys on holiday, we don’t have the option of flying or going somewhere too busy as our youngest is autistic. He needs to spend time in wide open spaces (which I’ve heard scotland has a lot of!) as he can’t stand crowds. It would be lovely for us to still be able to get away as a family.

  237. Lauren February 17, 2011 at 10:11 am

Of all the places I’ve been in Europe, the four days I was able to spend in Edinburgh were perhaps the best. Have you ever arrived in a city and it just felt right? That’s how it was last time. Everything about Edinburgh intrigues me and I cannot wait for my opportunity to go back. If I had the opprotunity, I would defintiely explore more of the history. I felt like last time I barely got at the surface of all that Edinburgh has to offer. There are so many places just filled with history and I would love the opportunity to just explore them all. I would probably do a repeat of more than one of the activities I did last time- definitely going back to Edinburgh castle – but I also just want to explore more of just the city. For a city that felt so much like coming home the first time I was there, there is still so much more to know.

  238. chyna February 17, 2011 at 2:34 pm

If I win, I’d take my hubby and we would have a blast!!!
