I would love to be able to see the military tattoo in Scotland!
I just want to go to Scotland! I have no idea how I’d spend my time in Edinburgh, but I know I’ll love it.
If I win, would visit some of the great places you have mentioned and also see the beautiful landscape around.
I would get to explore all of the things I missed the first time!
My husband and I got married last July and wanted to go to Scotland on our honeymoon. Alas, it did not work out, so if I win I take take him on a belated honeymoon!
I’m in! I have a friend in Scotland who has been harassing me to come and visit for a year, and winning this would be the perfect excuse. I can bring them along, free tour guides!!
I would love to have an excuse to go to Edinburgh!
Pub crawls, exploring Edinburgh castle, and cultural immersion.
I would love to visit when the Fringe is on!
I’d love to go to the festival. Also go on a ghost walk tour and stock up on some Edinburgh rock!
Wow, If I were to win I would spend hours walking through the city getting to know the people, as well as the sights.
If I win, my friend Chuck and I will tour the country in style while sampling as much of the local food and drink as possible!
I would love to delve deep into my Scottish descent. A trip to Edinburgh would be delightful–I picture pubs, green countryside, a bustling city…
I would love to use the power of twitter to have people suggest things for me to do. I think it would be a kick in the pants to have them decide where to go, what to see and where to eat!
I’ve always wanted to go there.
Castles, Whiskey and Bagpipes. Sounds like heaven to me.
I’ll already be in London later this year for work, so this would be a nice break from things!
Awesome competition!!
We’ve jsut signed up for the HomeAway newsletter – why do we want to go back to Edinburgh?
We didn’t manage to sample all the whiskeys in the whiskey destillery last time we were there, so we HAVE TO go back and finish this task. We also heard that there is a vegetarian version of Haggis (how??) which we’d love to try, and see what else we find time for (other than drinking, eating and enjoying the luxurious apartment 😉 …)
I would hunt for the best scotch whiskey in town!
You might want to learn how to spell it first.
Swanky! I’d run the Edinburgh 10k, then celebrate on the night with ironic drunken debauchery. Then walk it off in the morning to a wee visit of Great Friar’s Bobby. If Edinburgh doesn’t captivate you-check your heartbeat.
Have many close friends in Scotland and would LOVE to spend as much time with them as possible! This would give me just the opportunity to do so!
Turn off my BlackBerry, wander aimlessly, fill up a couple of memory cards with photos, eat, drink and enjoy
Oh wow, how exciting! I would love to return and see more of Edinburgh!!!
I would love to visit scotland
If I win this, I’m gonna hang out with @jools_octavius and tour some of the spots that I’ve read about in the Ian Rankin/Inspector Rebus novels. I’d also like to drink at the Oxford Bar.
This is a great contest. I’ve never been to Edinburgh, so my time would be very well spent seeing the sights, eating, drinking – whatever I can fit in! (I’d also love to meet @jools_octavius if he was in town!)
My roomie is Scottish and I’m dying to get there to learn more about his culture. Would love love love to win this trip!

Like last time I was in Scotland, I would spend most my time in the pubs trying out all the different tasty bitters!
Thoroughly recommend Edinburgh – I live in Glasgow and never tire of visiting it. You have to experience the Fringe too – awesome atmosphere 24/7.
Maybe see some of you there. Love doing photography there too.
I would bring my new travel easel and paint up a storm. Edinburgh has such picturesque architecture.
A revisit to Edinburgh would give me an opportunity to sip a dram or two of whiskey and take a train up to the Morays where my ancestors lived.
You might want to learn how to spell it first
I have traveled the world but have never made it to Scotland, I would love to take my family there!
Great contest! Would love to visit Edinburgh again… we went in the winter last time, so it would be nice to experience in the summer!
I would love to return to Scotland so I can spend more than a day in Edinburgh – walking the cobblestone streets, touring the castle, strolling through museums, taking a ridiculous number of photographs, and devouring delicious food and bevarages (whiskey, anyone?). Plus, I must visit the surrounding countryside. Cheers!

I’d eat haggis until I popped.
I would definitely spend a week enjoying the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and I’d love to photograph and blog about various performances and events.
I’ve always wanted to go to Scotland 🙂
Hmmmm, Scotland. The plan is golf. No, pubs. No, sightseeing. Arrrgggg. OK. Golf in the a.m. Then sightseeing. The pubs. Or maybe pubs before sightseeing. Screw it, I’m just confused now.
Hmm, I’d just have to use it for my honeymoon, should it be available. If not, I’d have to use it for another fantastic after my wedding, because neither I nor my fiance have been to Scotland yet 🙂
Going back to Edinburgh would be like going to my second home. The people, the culture, the haggis–the hard part will be leaving!!
If I win I would spend my time making up for lost time, which I can’t get back, but if I could, would spend traveling.
Oooohhh, I’m in for sure!! I would surely be able to find a scotch I like in the land of scotch!! Cheers!
This is great! If I were to win this stay I would give it to my father for his 50th Birthday coming up next month. Please choose me and help me send my father off on a relaxing trip to Edinburgh! 😉
First of all I would hunt down (well, not hunt down but maybe find) J.K.Rowling and convince her to talk to me a little bit, or just take a picture (I’m harmless, I will not hurt anyone, I promise)…then I would immerse (and most likely get lost) in the beauty that is Edinburgh. Hopefully if there’s time (if there’s not than I will make some) visit some castles (the haunted ones would be on top of the list), pubs (just for Dad) and in the end hop over to the Isle of Skye!
Perfect contest!
I’m hopefully visiting the UK this year and with a week stay Edinburgh I’d get a chance to extend my travel plans out from London where I’ll most likely be. I’d love to do some scotch tastings (I have a nice collection), tour some historic sites and hopefully get the timing right to see some festivals.
I haven’t been to the UK and can’t wait.
Have a great trip! 🙂

Fantastic prize xxx
Would love to soak up the culture in Edinburgh
Never been to Edinburgh – looks like a wonderful city with great architecture
This would be a an amazing opportunity for us to take our 2 boys on holiday, we don’t have the option of flying or going somewhere too busy as our youngest is autistic. He needs to spend time in wide open spaces (which I’ve heard scotland has a lot of!) as he can’t stand crowds. It would be lovely for us to still be able to get away as a family.
Of all the places I’ve been in Europe, the four days I was able to spend in Edinburgh were perhaps the best. Have you ever arrived in a city and it just felt right? That’s how it was last time. Everything about Edinburgh intrigues me and I cannot wait for my opportunity to go back. If I had the opprotunity, I would defintiely explore more of the history. I felt like last time I barely got at the surface of all that Edinburgh has to offer. There are so many places just filled with history and I would love the opportunity to just explore them all. I would probably do a repeat of more than one of the activities I did last time- definitely going back to Edinburgh castle – but I also just want to explore more of just the city. For a city that felt so much like coming home the first time I was there, there is still so much more to know.
If I win, I’d take my hubby and we would have a blast!!!
I’ve never been to Scotland, so would take my lovely husband/driver and use it to explore Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
I would like to explore. Explore the shops, the culture and the history of the place

When I win . . .we’ll use the stay as a home base for exploring the country. A week in Edinburgh will give us a good start and we’ll branch out from there. We’re retiring from active work at age 57 Aug 5, 2011 . . .and looking forward to exploring the world starting with Edinburgh.
If I win I would explore the city, use it as a base to explore further around Scotland, and then try all the different kinds of whisky!
